Day 1: Fez to the Sahara Desert

Your journey commences in the morning as your knowledgeable driver collects you from your hotel or riad in Fez, marking the beginning of an unforgettable adventure to the Sahara Desert. You'll be heading towards Merzouga, home to the captivating Erg Chebbi Dunes that stretch eastward, reaching all the way to Algeria. This experience is a must when visiting Morocco. However, before you delve into the desert, you'll have the opportunity to explore the majestic Atlas Mountains, starting with your first stop in Ifrane, often referred to as Morocco's Switzerland due to its charming alpine architecture. Your next destination will be the fragrant cedar forests surrounding the tranquil village of Azrou. Here, you can observe Barbary Apes, also known as Macaque monkeys, living contentedly in their natural habitat – and they might just join you for lunch! The scenic journey continues through the mountains until you reach Midelt, a town renowned as the apple capital, where you'll have lunch. Along the way, make sure to take some time for photographs of the picturesque Ziz Valley and its stunning landscapes. Continue your journey until you arrive at Rissani, a significant gateway to the Sahara. From there, venture deep into the desert until the Erg Chebbi Dunes emerge seemingly out of nowhere, as if by magic. The highlight of the day awaits – a ninety-minute camel trek to your Berber tent, nestled amidst the vast sand dunes. As you relax, immerse yourself in the melodies of traditional Berber music, gazing up at the enchanting moon and the myriad stars that appear so close you could almost touch them. Conclude your day with a meticulously prepared dinner before retiring to your spectacular Sahara Desert camp, where you'll sleep under the twinkling stars.

Day 2: Merzouga to Dades Gorges

Prepare to witness a breathtaking sunrise over the vast sand dunes. After enjoying a delightful breakfast and a refreshing hot shower, you have two options for your journey back to Merzouga – either on camelback or by 4WD, depending on your preference. We'll bid farewell to the Sahara's golden sands and make our way towards Erfoud, a town renowned for its fossil production. Our next stop will be Tinghir, often referred to as "the city of the mountain" in Tamazight, the Berber language. Here, you'll be captivated by the striking contrast between lush palm trees and the vibrant colors of the local homes, creating a picturesque landscape that showcases the region's diversity. As we venture deeper into the landscape, we'll arrive at the Todra Gorges, where towering rock walls rise up to 200 meters high. After exploring this natural wonder, we'll continue our journey to the Dades Valley, another Berber settlement famous for its steep gorges. Here, the Atlas Mountains offer a dramatic backdrop, and the gorges themselves are affectionately known as "monkey feet." You'll enjoy dinner and spend the night in this enchanting setting.

Day 3: Dades Gorges, Ouarzazate, Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, and Marrakech

Our day begins with a departure from the Dades Valley, heading towards the Valley of the Roses. Here, you'll have the opportunity to visit rose cooperatives that produce natural rose water, a well-known Moroccan product. Our journey continues to Ouarzazate, where we'll explore the impressive Kasbah of Taourirt. After traveling approximately 25 kilometers, we'll arrive at the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that has served as a backdrop for renowned films like "Lawrence of Arabia," "The Protective Sky," and "Babel." Lunch will be served in this historic location. Our final destination is the "Red City" of Marrakech, which we'll reach by crossing the Tizi N-Tichka pass and traversing the breathtaking landscapes of the High Atlas Highlands. Here, you'll bid farewell to your driver, concluding your remarkable journey.
